If you want to throw a quiz for friends or family but don't think you will be any good at coming up with one yourself there are loads of great Quiz games you can buy from shops. You can normally use these s DVDs, Wii's, X Boxes, and you will find some unique quiz games and you can also buy the majority of your favourite TV quiz shows to play in your own home.

These are great for family nights in or for having friends round, you can get games for all ages to take part in as well as quizzes just for the adults or children! So here are some of the best quiz games on the market at the moment;

The Great British Pub Quiz 2010

You can do your own pub quiz in the comfort of your own house, with the traditional pub quiz rounds is a good quiz for all the family to take part in. You can have your pick from 8 different rounds, you play along using your TV remote and all answers should be written down by a member of each team and they are then gone through at the end.

Now That's What I Call A Family Quiz

This is a great quiz for the family, hence the name. The quiz has a mix of music related questions as well as general knowledge questions, the quiz has about 800 different questions on it that all range over five decades which means there is something for everyone.

The aim of the game isn't just to get to the questions right, but also as you work through it as you get questions right you move up the music career ladder, you pick a character from your choosen music ear and then the move up the career ladder; this starts with forming a band, then getting signed then releasing an album, then to touring and ending up performing in massive sold out arenas.

Buzz!

Buzz! Is one of the most popular quiz games out at the moment, and it has a number of different styles, like Buzz! Juniors, the game was originally for Play stations but TV versions are now also available. With the game you get 4 of the Buzz controllers, making for teams, on the buzzer you have a large red buzzer and then 4 other smaller buttons; blue, orange, green and yellow, and you press the one you think is the correct answer to the questions.

The quiz itself has a format of is a series of questions that require teams to all buzz in with what they think is the correct answer. There are a number of rounds like Point Builder, Snap, Lock before you leap, point stealer, hitman, pass the bomb, ask a friend and fastest finger.

Family Fortunes

There are a number of volumes of the Family Fortunes game, the DVD game is exactly like the TV show but it allows you to play from your home. The quiz format is the same as the TV show so you won't have to spend hours reading instructions of how to play it.

Is starts with team 1 being asked to come up with 5 answers for the first question and then team 2 are asked to do the same for another question and so on. Along with the game you get score sheets and answer sheets for both teams, which have the instructions on in case you get a bit stuck!

Deal or No Deal

This DVD allows you to take your turn in the chair to make some money and win against the banker. The DVD is hosted by Noel Edmonds who guides you though the games as well as this you are also able to take advice off some of your favourite past contestants. You are able to talk to the banker, and there is also a new lucky dip section just for the DVD.

The game is just like the TV show, everyone is dealt a red box with money going from 1p to 250,000, its then up to your to chose which boxes you want to get rid of, but do you have it in you to beat the banker!?

Eamonn Holmes Spell...

This is a great interactive quiz game for all the family as all it requires is knowing how to spell words, seems simple enough but it is sure to get teams fired up wanting to win. The games host Eamonn Holmes will put your teams head to head asking you how to spell over 2000 words, along with asking you to spell them, he will sometimes ask for a definition and give you some word facts!

This DVD game might seem like one of the easier ones on the market but as soon as you play it you will get hooked. It's the perfect DVD for family nights in because everyone can have a go regardless of age. The game also has some really fun features to it too and with the lovely Eamonn Holmes as your host, you can't not enjoy it!

Empire Interactive Film Quiz

This is a great quiz for movie lovers as it tests your knowledge on all things to do with films! The DVD have over 1,000 questions that take all different forms, with some being movie clips, sound clips, etc from some of the most popular and well known films over the years as well as some more trickier ones.

There are 12 rounds to have a go at; you can play in teams or on your own. There are also 2 levels to choose from, beginners for those starting off but if you are already pretty confident that you are pretty clued up on your movies then you can select the higher level. The aim of the game is to get a Empire Movie 5 rating, the first to get it wins!

The X Factor Interactive DVD Game

This is probably one of the best DVD games for a girly night in. The game takes you through some of the most memorable auditions, as well as revealing the judges favourite auditions. The DVD is hosted by the lovely Fearne Cotton who takes you through clips from the first 4 series as well as some unseen footage.

The quiz tests you on all things X Factor and music, the first round tests you as a judge, you have to watch auditions, then onto boot camp, then the judge's houses. After the initial rounds you can make it onto the live shows and then if you're lucky the grand final. The aim is to score as many points as possible in the first three rounds in order to get to the final!
